Diet which Works and is Easy to Stick with to Long Term - Ideal weight loss diet is a myth

If you ever tried to lose weight than you already know that maintaining optimal body weight is even a greater challenge than losing the excess pounds. Diet alone is not enough for successful weight loss and maintenance of a healthy body weight but without permanent eating habits you will face difficulties before even achieving desired body weight. Changing eating habits will not be easy and you will not find an ideal weight loss diet. There might be some ups and downs as well as times when you will not be able to stay away from “forbidden” foods but you should keep in mind that weight loss and weight control is a lifelong process.

Instead of searching for different types of diets and researching which one works and is easy to stick with to long term, counting calories and fighting the feeling of hunger and deprivation you should perhaps concentrate on foods which are the best for weight loss and weight control. Take time to study the best “weight loss foods” to determine which you like the most and which you believe you could eat for the rest of your life and make your own diet. Do not cut off all the foods you like to eat which are not on the list of “weight loss foods”. You can and should continue to eat foods high in calorie content as well but in smaller portions.

A diet which works on long term should not base on severe and sudden food and calorie restriction. Gradual progress will not only make the change of diet more tolerable but it is also the healthiest and the most effective way to both lose and control weight. Always keep in mind that a healthy diet foresees loss of no more than two pounds per week.
